First-Stop Information Center. The Ennis Convention and Visitors Bureau (ECVB) located in the Ennis Welcome Center at 201 NW Main Street should be your first stop if you're new to our town. From parks and lakes to a nationally recognized professional motor sports venue and a regionally recognized multi-purpose sports complex, Ennis offers an abundance of recreation and leisure opportunities for Bluebonnet City residents and visitors alike. Listed below are some of our biggest attractions:

Big O Speedway. Saturday nights are always fast-paced with plenty of excitement when Big O Speedway's dirt track car racing events get into high gear! From mid-March through October, experience the thrills and spills of the UMP modifieds, hot stock, street stock, and figure 8/bomber. The track is conveniently located to the Southeast of Ennis on Highway 85, just 5.2 miles East of I-45 (Take I-45 Exit # 249). Blues on Main. Enjoy an evening of live music and family fun under the stars in beautiful Historic Downtown Ennis the second Saturday of every June.  

Ennis All Star Bowl. Public bowling lanes, snack bar, laser tag, video games, and sports bar.

Ennis Area Parks
. For families who want to spend time together enjoying leisurely stroll, feeding the ducks, eating a picnic lunch, or just watching the clouds breeze by, Ennis offers 18 beautiful City of Ennis parks covering over 177.63 acres of land that can more than satisfy one's outdoor needs. Our more popular parks include:

Bluebonnet Park. This 47 acre park was opened May 1996. This facility includes 8 lighted ball fields, 2 concession/restroom facilities, 10 acres of dedicated recreational open space, a 2 acre fishing lake, a 3/4 mile walking path, picnic gazebos and a covered pavilion. This magnificent facility is designed for softball & baseball leagues and tournaments and has attracted teams from across the State of Texas. Lions Park. This 18.58 acre park opened May 27, 2005 and includes a 2 acre fishing lake, covered pavilion, playground, and a paved 1/2 mile walking path that encircles the lake.

Veterans Memorial Park. This 19.13 acre park opened August 16, 2011 and includes a dedicated tribute to local war veterans, 9 soccer fields, a concession/restroom facility, picnic tables, a paved 1/4 mile walking path, and playground.

Ennis Bluebonnet Trails. Come find out why Ennis is known as "The Official  Bluebonnet City and Trail of Texas." Each Spring, the Ennis Garden Club details the best wildflower viewing areas for eager photographers of the Texas State flower. The month of April in Ennis is colorful indeed.

Ennis Bluebonnet Trails Festival. Come and join us as we spring into Spring at the Ennis Bluebonnet Trails festival, proudly hosted by the Ennis Garden Club.

Ennis Public Library. Over 40,000 holdings are found in this modern facility which contains a state of the art audio-visual learning center with distance learning capabilities. This high tech center is available for rental on a reservations-in-advance basis. A notable Regional History wing for genealogical studies is a must see! Ennis Public Theatre. Enjoy a live stage production in this beautifully updated theatre in the heart of downtown Ennis. 

Ennis Railroad and Cultural Heritage Museum. Don't miss this fascinating collection of train memorabilia and historic photo displays! The Museum is located at 105 NE Main Street. You may contact the Museum directly by calling 972.875.1901.

Galaxy Drive-In. Return to the nostalgic days at one of the few remaining drive-in theatre's in the state. Enjoy the modern convenience of listening to the movies over your vehicle’s FM radio with DTS surround sound!.

Historic District Shopping and Dining. Stroll along brick streets and enjoy the newly redesigned Dallas Street as you shop for unique gifts or enjoy a delicious meal in the historic downtown district.

Lake Bardwell. With over 3,500 surface acres, Lake Bardwell is of one of the largest attractions in Ellis county with annual attendance exceeding 150,000. The sparkling body of water offers skiing, fishing, swimming, boating and more to be done at your leisure. Highview Marina rents paddle boats and offers fishing space in a covered pavilion. Camp, picnic, or host a special gathering on the 1,800 acres surrounding the lake. There are 5 parks strategically located on the grounds of Lake Bardwell that are maintained by the US Army Corps of Engineers. They include 17 picnic areas, six boat ramps, and more than 125 electric sites. User fees and annual passes can be obtained by calling 972.875.5711.

National Polka Festival.  Every Memorial Day Weekend, our large Czechoslovakian population hosts the National Polka Festival with a parade, colorful costumes, street dancing, mouthwatering Czech food, desserts, and over 13 traditional Polka bands.

Sugar Ridge Winery. Located in beautiful Bristol, Texas, just on the outskirts of Ennis, Sugar Ridge Winery offers great tasting wines in a beautiful setting with many different types of wines to choose from. They frequently host live acoustic performances and other special events. There is a private tasting room available for parties, receptions, and special events. Tennis. The Lion Tennis Center, one of the finest public accessible tennis facilities in the State is owned and operated by the Ennis Independent School District, features 9 championship quality tennis courts (4 indoors), snack bar, and pro shop. Texas Motorplex. Drawing annual crowds in excess of over 500,000 fans, the Texas Motorplex is one of the finest racetracks in the nation. Races and other events are held almost every weekend from February to November. Rev up your stay in Ennis by visiting such large events as the Super Chevy Show in May and the NHRA AAA Texas Fall Nationals in October.
