Health Insurance

Employee premiums are funded 85% by the City.   For dependent coverage, employees are required to pay for eighteen (18) months at full premium cost, at which point the City assumes 85% of dependent premium cost.  AETNA continues to be the City’s health insurance carrier through plan year 2017. 2017_2018 Benefits Enrollment Guide

Eligible employees are given the opportunity to enroll upon hire with coverage taking effect the first of the month following date of hire. Employees not eligible for this benefit when hired but later become eligible will be offered the opportunity to enroll with coverage taking effect the first of the month following eligibility date.
