Public Access Computers

Computer and Internet resources are accessible to adults and children in kindergarten and older with a current library card in good standing.

Use of the Ennis Public Library’s computers will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. No appointments will be taken.

Adults and students in grades 7-12 may use one of 10 computers with access to the Internet, a printer, and Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint.

Children in grades K-6 may use the 4 computers in the children’s lab. Educational games are always available in the lab. Children in grades 4-6 have access to the Internet when a staff member is present. Children in grades K-3 must have a parent present to access the Internet.

As a one-time courtesy, out-of-town visitors may use a public computer at the library when workstations are available. If a longer stay in Ennis is necessary, the visitor may apply for a temporary library card.

While library staff is happy to assist users in accessing the Internet, each user is responsible for his/her own search. Staff cannot provide in-depth personal computer training outside of the classes offered by the library.

The library cannot police the Internet and each individual user must take responsibility for his/her own activities on the computer and for the activities of his/her child.
