FWAS Winter Birding Trip
|Date:||February 12, 2017|
FWAS winter birding trip to Eastern Ellis County
Leader: Ted Drozdowski
Date: Sunday February 12, 2017
Meeting place and time: Bluebonnet Park in Ennis at 7:00 a.m. for a 7:15 departure so we can carpool from there.
Description: We will visit a variety of sites to maximize the number of species for the day. Species targeted will include wintering geese, ducks, raptors (including Caracara), sparrows, field birds, and maybe longspurs (if we get lucky).
We will return around 1pm or so for lunch. After lunch, if there is enough interest, we will continue to bird around Lake Bardwell. Because of limited parking in a few spots, we will carpool and try to drive with full cars only. There are bathrooms at Bluebonnet Park. Please bring snacks, and drinks with you. Lunch is probably a good idea too. While the weather can be variable in NCTX in mid-February, you should come prepared for cold blustery weather regardless, as we will be outside birding most of the time.
Participant Limit: This trip will have a limit of 20 people and be on a first come first serve basis with FWAS members having priority until January 31st. Bad weather make-up date will be Sunday February 26.
RSVP/Contact: Ted Drozdowski to get on the trip list or to get further information at 817-908-6897 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
