The City of Ennis is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2026 community contribution provided through the City’s economic incentives agreement with Buc-ee’s, Ltd.
As part of the agreement, Buc-ee’s provides an annual contribution to charitable organization(s) selected by the City Commission. For 2026, the City Commission designated the Boys & Girls Club of Ennis and the Golden Circle Activities Center as recipients of this contribution. In January 2026, Buc-ee's made its community contribution for 2026 to Destination Ennis in error.
Destination Ennis advised the City that Destination Ennis was unable to participate in the 2026 Cinco de Mayo event in the City of Ennis without the use of the 2026 Buc-ee's community contribution and intended to cancel the event if the Buc-ee's 2026 contribution was returned.
As part of a settlement agreement, Destination Ennis agreed to make this payment to the Boys & Girls Club of Ennis and the Golden Circle Activities Center after the 2026 Cinco de Mayo event.
“We appreciate Buc-ee’s continued investment in our community,” said Mayor Lynda Isbell. “The City of Ennis’ and Buc-ee’s efforts help support organizations that make a meaningful difference in the lives of Ennis residents.”
City Manager Andrea Weckmueller-Behringer also emphasized the value of these annual contributions, noting: “These funds support organizations that provide essential services to and engagement with our residents. We deeply appreciate Buc-ee’s continued collaboration and their commitment to supporting organizations that serve our residents. Their contributions help us uplift programs that enhance the well-being of our entire community.”
The City looks forward to continuing this collaboration and supporting organizations that positively impact Ennis and its residents.
