Ennis, Texas - The City of Ennis is proud to announce that its Purchasing Division has been awarded the Achievement of Excellence in Procurement® (AEP), a national honor recognizing organizations that demonstrate outstanding performance in professional, ethical, and transparent procurement practices.

Established in 1995, the AEP Award is open to all public and nonprofit organizations. The program’s comprehensive criteria promote continuous improvement and elevate procurement as a vital contributor to good governance.

This recognition reflects the City’s commitment to strong internal controls, fair and competitive vendor opportunities, compliance with state and local requirements, and responsible stewardship of public funds. The City of Ennis joins 251 other local government entities that have earned this prestigious award nationwide.

"This award highlights the dedication and professionalism of our Purchasing Division," said the City Manager, Andrea Weckmueller-Behringer. "Their commitment to excellence ensures that our procurement processes remain transparent, responsible, and aligned with industry best practices."

The City of Ennis extends its congratulations to the Purchasing Division, led by Katrinia Roberson, for earning this prestigious award and representing Ennis among top public procurement organizations committed to excellence.
