The City Secretary is a statutory position required by State law and the City Charter. The City Secretary is appointed by the Mayor and City Commission and reports to the Mayor.
Responsibilities:
- Staff support to the Mayor and City Commission
- Give notice of City Commission meetings and attend and record minutes of each meeting
- Certify, attest by signature, and affix the City Seal to all official City documents to include Ordinances, Resolutions, and contracts
- Records Management Officer
- Public Information Officer
- Elections Administrator for the City
- Update Code of Ordinances
- Issue Alcohol Permits
- Issue Solicitor Permits
- Hotel/Motel Tax Collection
