Water and Wastewater Town Hall Materials Now Available

On Thursday, January 22, 2026, community stakeholders participated in the City of Ennis - Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Town Hall focused on sharing information about the current state of the City’s utilities, the challenges we face, and the steps being taken to prepare our community for future growth.

The introductory presentation at the Town Hall will include the following topics:

  • Community Growth – rapid increase in population growth rate since 2020
  • Water and Wastewater Systems – 157 miles of wastewater lines and 187 miles of water lines
  • Water Treatment Capacity – built in 1966, provides daily capacity of 9.1 million gallons per day
  • Wastewater Treatment Capacity – built in 1959, modified in 1974, treats 4.1 million gallons per day
  • Current Conditions – demonstrated history of high-quality water but aging infrastructure
  • Utility Projects & Future Planning – needed updates for both treatment plants and line replacement
