Police Officer

The Ennis Police Department accepts applications for the position of Police Officer at varied times throughout the year. Check the City of Ennis Human Resources web page here regularly for updates and application periods.

Basic Requirements                                                                               

• Must be a United States citizen and 21 years of age or older
• Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent
• Meet all initial license requirements for Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE)
• No felony or class A misdemeanor convictions; including deferred adjudications
• No misdemeanor convictions, including deferred adjudications, above the grade of Class C within the past 10 years
• Not on community supervision or probation for any criminal offense above the grade of Class C misdemeanor
• No DWI convictions within the past 10 years
• Must read, write, and speak the English language
• Must have a stable school, work and driving record
• Applicants must be able to pass a physical/medical exam as determined by a physician
