A Zoning Verification Letter confirms the current zoning designation of a property and identifies the types of uses permitted within that zoning district. It can also verify whether the property is in compliance with all applicable zoning ordinances. These letters are commonly requested by lenders and buyers during the due diligence process.

Effective immediately, to obtain a Zoning Verification Letter from the Planning and Development Department, please submit a completed Zoning Verification Letter Request along with the required $25 fee. Staff will begin processing your request once both the application and fee have been received.

All requests must be submitted through our online portal at https://ennistx.portal.opengov.com/. Please know that Department staff will not review and process a zoning letter request received via email.

Additionally, any changes or addendums requested after a letter has been issued will require a new application and an additional fee.
