The City of Ennis is committed to financial transparency, and our efforts have been recognized by the Texas State Comptroller’s Office and the Government Finance Officers Association.

The Finance Department manages the City’s budgeting system and provides financial information to both internal leadership and external stakeholders. This ensures public funds are used responsibly and that all financial activity complies with
statutory, contractual, and City requirements.

The Accounting Department maintains a governmental accounting system that provides essential financial information to both external stakeholders and internal management. This information supports the monitoring of public expenditures and ensures that all financial transactions comply with statutory requirements, contractual obligations, and City policy.

The department oversees key functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, capital budget reporting, and financial reporting, including preparation of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report.
